Our Story
Since 1990, Hollywood Cafe Bistro has been a quiet fixture on Spruce Street — the kind of place where the coffee is poured before you ask and the names of regulars are remembered after a single visit.
What began as a small bakery corner has grown into a full-service bistro, but the philosophy remains unchanged: bake everything from scratch, source locally whenever possible, and treat every guest the way you'd treat a friend stopping by for dinner.
Our kitchen leads with classic American comfort food, our pastry case fills each morning with something new, and our bar serves handcrafted drinks that pair as well with a croissant as they do with a steak.

We've been coming here for Sunday brunch for over a decade. The eggs are always perfect, the coffee never empties, and the staff knows our names. That's not something you find everywhere in Houston.
The croissants are genuinely some of the best I've had outside of Paris. Flaky, buttery, with that perfect shatter. I drive past a dozen other bakeries just to park here.
Hosted our anniversary dinner here and it was exactly what we wanted — intimate, warm, no pretense. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the wine list surprised us. We'll be back.
